Washington Cup Seeding & Advancement Scenario

Third-Annual Washington Cup Seeding Information

For the first time, we have seeded the teams for the qualifying rounds of the Washington Cup. We expect there will be some controversy and disagreement but the seedings are final. Every team ranking is based on Spring League standings and then Fall League and tournaments if there were any questions about the team.

It’s ok if you disagree. But the show and the tournament must go on. So, with that said, welcome to the 2012 Washington Cup! We believe this ranking system will make for interesting match ups, raging talking points and a fantastic and competitive tournament. The younger ages, U11-U13, will truly have an East versus West rivalry that we hope to expand to more age groups in the future.

U11-U13 divisions will have separate qualifying tournaments. Matches in the Puget Sound Qualifier (U11 to U18) will be held March 30—April 1 at Starfire in Tukwila. Matches in the Eastern WA Qualifier (U11-U13) will be held April 13—April 15 in Moses Lake. Championship Finals will take place April 27-29 in Lacey and Puyallup.

Teams will advance based on points regardless of flight grouping. And teams will be seeded for the Championship Round based on performance in the qualifiers.

Due to an imbalance in the number of teams in the PS and EW Qualifiers, the number of teams advancing from each qualifier will be weighted accordingly.  Some teams will advance to the Gold elimination round, some to the Silver elimination round and some will not advance.

Details for each division are below.
